As always, the arbitrary turning of the calendar and the widespread recognition of\u00a0celebratory renewal brings with it an opportunity to reassess the course of my life and\u00a0resolve to make it better, more meaningful, or more impactful. \u00a0The last few years have presented me with new challenges and exciting opportunities for personal growth, and I have no desire to slack off at this juncture.<\/p>\n
Interestingly enough, 2015 was largely dominated by projects which began in previous years. \u00a0My RPG podcast Metagamers Anonymous<\/a> celebrated its 3rd anniversary last April. \u00a0In May and June I ran my second Kickstarter campaign for TsunamiCon 2015<\/a>, which happened in October. \u00a0I picked up and continued writing on my novel,\u00a0continued expanding my company’s periodical division<\/a>, and ran some fun and successful gaming events for our local community. \u00a0I also had a chance to start indoctrinating my son into the world of hobby board gaming, and I accepted a promotion at work to an acting supervisor position.<\/p>\n All in all, not a bad year, but I have certainly come to realize that my accomplishments have become difficult to measure. \u00a0 Hence, I resolve the following:<\/p>\n I would love<\/em> to commit to doing something creative every day… but I also know that I haven’t time or\u00a0energy to be certain of that, and I don’t want the failure to live up to it to destroy my will to succeed. \u00a0But I can<\/em> commit to accomplishing something creative every week. \u00a0And to keep myself honest, I will blog about it on a regular basis.<\/p>\n I always have a lot of irons in the fire, and I recognize that certain large-scale projects (like TsunamiCon) will dominate my time at\u00a0specific intervals and make it difficult to keep up. \u00a0That being said, I will do my best to stay on top of it and make up for lost time whenever possible.<\/p>\n Secondly, in the spirit of forward thinking, I resolve to build up my current projects\u00a0and continue expanding into new territory. \u00a0One of the biggest obstacles to\u00a0this particular angle is the aforementioned time and energy issue, so I would like to go on the offensive by\u00a0setting and reviewing goals on a monthly basis.<\/p>\n I will start that process this weekend. \u00a0For today, my first goal is to pen this particular blog about my personal resolution and post updates on the state of the Prismatic Tsunami community, the podcasts, the convention, and so forth.<\/p>\n That should keep me busy for a couple
